Abstract/Description or Keywords | Within the Salmon River Watershed in the mountainous British Columbia Interior, declining river water quality has been a significant concern in recent years. The challenge in this watershed is to protect water quality and aquatic and riparian habitat, while managing human uses of water for agriculture, recreation and domestic needs. A recent study assessed the environmental and economic effect of cattle exclusion fencing, a BMP employed to this end. The study also explored other possible contributions from agriculture to water quality in the Salmon River. water quality, sediment, biological water quality, range, riparian, chemical water quality |
