This report presents the results of a watershed assessment of Dillard Creek, located approximately 40 km southeast of Merritt (Fig. 1). Weyerhaeuser Canada ltd. (Merritt Division) initiated the study in this community watershed prior to the start of proposed forest development. Concerns in Dillard Creek watershed included the impact of the five-year forest development plan on peak flows and channel stability, and the potential effects of soil erosion and mass wasting on sedimentation and water quality (Merritt Forest District IWAP 1997). The Missezula Lake Waterworks District indicated that they are informed of Weyerhaeuser's forest development plans from time to time, and that siltation of Dillard Creek occurs during every spring freshnet (personal communication with Murray Thomas, January 1999). The Ministry of Forests previously noted an old landslide (approx. age = 5yrs), located 170m upstream of the water intake (personal communication with Frank Heller, September 1998.)
