Lamont Creek, a tributary of Whipsaw Cree, drains an area of 3, 584 ha. Elevations range from 800 m at the confluence with Whipsaw Creek to 1850 m at the western boundary. The Lamont Creek drainage includes Dalby Creek and Dalby Meadows, a tributary equal to about 25% of the total watershed area. This report presents the results of an overview hydrologic assessment of the Lamont Creek sub-basin located southwest of Princeton. Weyerhaeuser Canada Ltd. (Merritt Division) initiated the study, partly in response to the results of the 1997 Merritt Forest District IWAP, and partly to address concerns from the Ministry of Forests. Concerns include peak flows, surface erosion, riparian buffers, and the impact of the five-year forest development plan. Fieldwork was carried out in September and October 1998. watershed assessment, ECA, peak flow, forest harvest, erosion, riparian |
