Five permanent channel monitoring sites and two photo monitoring sites were established in the Mission Creek watershed. Two permanent channel monitoring sites are on Mission Creek (above Pearson Creek and Fish Hawk Creek), one site on Pearson Creek, one site on Fish Hawk Creek and one site on Belgo Creek. The two photo sites are located on Lees Creek and Unnamed Creek. In the fall of 2000 the five channel monitoring sites and two photo sites were re-assessed for the second consecutive year. The intent of the channel monitoring program is to help quantify the degree of channel change over time and to determine the effects of future forest development on these streams. The monitoring information will serve as a tool to help guide future management decisions within the watershed. The results of this program are intended to compliment other research and restoration efforts including the Watershed Assessment Procedure, Channel Assessment Procedure, and Watershed Restoration Program. channel, geomorphology, erosion, riparian, aquatic habitat, forest harvest, road |
