The purpose of the study was to provide estimates of available water at the BMID intake in mean and minimum runoff years. Four separate methods (actual streamflow records, grid squares, average flow estimations, and Lambly Creek runoff-elevation relationships) were used to estimate Mission Creek sub-basin runoff. Minimum flows for each sub-basin were estimated through streamflow records, Okanagan Lake inflow data, and UBC minimum flow estimates. Demand (irrigation) estimates were supplied by the Water Supply and Investigations Division, while storages were calculated based off of reservoir capacities. Results found that in order to meet drought conditions (outlined in this report) the BMID must reconstruct Graystoke reservoir in order to design demands. water yield, low flow, model, irrigation, water supply, drought |
