The Shorts and Bear Creek areas are two drainages, encompassing 17,347 hectares (ha) on the j northwest side of Lake Okanagan. The Shorts Creek draina?e is a 14,785 ha area (1,830 ha of which is wildlife preserve) located approximately 27 km southwest of Vernon, B.C., on the south side of Shorts Creek, west of the settlement of Fintry, B.C. The overall objective of this project is to collect, collate and present data on: the surficial geology, geomorphology, slope class, drainage characteristics, terrain stability, sediment erosion potential (SEP), risk of sediment delivery into streams (RSDS) and likelihood of landslide debris entering streams (PLDES) within TFL 49A, Shorts and Bear Creek areas.
