A risk analysis has been completed on the Oyama Creek watershed for the BC Ministry of Environment (MOE). Funding for the project was provided by the BC Forests for Tomorrow (FFT) program. Oyama Creek drains an area of approximately 4,350 ha east of Kalamalka Lake in the North Okanagan valley. Oyama Creek is a designated community watershed -the District of Lake Country (DLC) is the main water license holder. The DLC intake and primary treatment facility is located on the lower mainstem channel. The watershed area upstream of this point is 4,256 ha. DLC also holds storage water licenses on Oyama, Chatterton, Damer, and High Lakes. Two basins are defined upstream of the DLC intake for discussion purposes -North Oyama and Oyama Lake. mountain pine beetle, forest harvest, forest management, watershed management, community watershed, aquatic habitat |
