Abstract/Description or Keywords |
This study examines the spatial-temporal variability of runoff generation and groundwater dynamics in a snow-dominated catchment in south-central British Columbia, and employs field measures to collectively evaluate the internal performance of the Distributed Hydrology Soil Vegetation Model (DHSVM). Subsequently, the model is combined with synthetically-generated longterm meteorological data to examine the simulated effects of roads and harvesting on peak flow regimes. Observed groundwater levels were found to be more responsive in the upper hillslopes with accumulation in the lower slopes, and strong groundwater level correlations with runoff generally decreased with increasing distances from streams. |
