Abstract/Description or Keywords |
The objectives of this part of the Small Works project were: 1) to examine site conditions (winter) to determine if proposed dredging of the settling pond should go ahead for February 19, 2008. 2) to monitor the dredging of the settling pond for environmental impacts and ensure proper functioning of the spawning channel by-pass (shunt). Flow coming into the side channel from the two intakes was diverted using the shunt, to by-pass the settling pond. Approximately 40 excavator dirt-bucket loads of sediment was removed from the settling pond and side-cast.Flow was re-directed into the settling pond upon completion of dredging activities. |
