Abstract/Description or Keywords |
A succinct inventory of the society's accomplishments in 2010. The re-establishment of these wetlands has been a daunting task. Four years of perseverence now shows major results in cattail cull, necessitated by cattail growth explosion during pre-society dry years of pump and infrastructure failure and ensuing absence of the muskrat and its habitat. During the society's seven years much repair has been done to aging infrastructure as well as dedicated attention to entice failing pump function. 2010: society’s imperatives for this year were the following:- Cattail Encroachment Program Black Tern nesting platforms Band pump/Skincus canal fence repair South (Tanal) marsh pump replacement North pump replacement General maintenance of the marsh systems |
