Abstract/Description or Keywords | Project No. Other - N2 - McMurdo. Rocky Mountain Forest District, McMurdo Bench Objectives: To assess the impact of fertilization and cattle grazing on water draining from a community pasture development. Experimental Design: Primary water sampling is on Paddy Creek where samples are taken above and below the community pasture. Similar samples are taken on three other creeks (Monteagle Creek, Beards Creek, and Hogranch Creek) for comparison purposes, but will not be used in the final analysis. Sampling above and below will continue for two years prior to fertilization and cattle use and will continue for three years following fertilization. The before comparison will be used to evaluate impacts. History: 1992 - water sampling commenced. 1994 - proposed fertilization 1995 - proposed cattle grazing 1998 - final data collection and project completion |
