Abstract/Description or Keywords In this study, the owners of four domestic wells in the Mount Geoffrey aquifer, Hornby Island, monitored their water levels for more than a year using submerged airlines. A submerged air-line is a simple monitoring device that measures the pressure required to evacuate or empty an open-ended tube that has been inserted below the water line in a well. A gauge reads either pressure directly or the gauge converts the pressure to an equivalent height of water above the bottom end of the tube. The intent of the study was to evaluate how well the air-line devices worked under field conditions, compile the groundwater level information from wells in different parts of the aquifer, and assess the potential correlation between seasonal fluctuations in the observation well and the domestic wells.
