Abstract/Description or Keywords The purpose of this technical memorandum is to provide an inventory of potential
contaminants from human activities.
Task 3 of this assessment has involved the review of existing pollutant sources, the
evaluation of land use information, the identification of potential pollutant sources, the
preparation of a list of potential contaminants, and the conduction of a survey of
contaminant sources. The following documentation is provided to summarize the work
completed:
• A Hazard Identification Table (of human activities) that lists and describes the hazard,
defines the possible effects, and lists the existing preventive measures and associated
protection barriers
• A Contaminant Source Inventory Table which includes the type and description of the
contaminant source, the owner, the location, the distance and direction to Comox Lake
(or the intake at Puntledge River), the possible contaminants of concern, and the
transportation mechanism
• A GIS map of potential contaminant sources
This technical memorandum represents the completion of Task 3. There are three more
work tasks required to complete the Comox Lake Watershed Assessment.
