Abstract/Description or Keywords The Stave watershed is located approximately 70 km east of Vancouver in the Fraser River Valley.
It is adjacent to the easterly boundary of the Alouette watershed, both of which flow south. The
Alouette River discharges into the Pitt River and then the Fraser River, while the Stave River
discharges directly into the Fraser River. Two thirds of precipitation in the Stave watershed comes
from south-westerly warm fronts during between October and March. The remaining third falls over
the late spring and summer. The hydrology is dominated by spring runoff from melting snow and
from storm events in the autumn. aquatic habitat, salmonids
