Integrated Woods Services Ltd. was contracted by Slocan Group, Vavenby Division (Slocan) to complete a comprehensive watershed assessment for the Mann Creek watershed. The watershed was selected for further study based largely on past and proposed levels of forestry development within the drainage. Funding for the project was provided by Slocan. The objectives of the detailed watershed assessment were to: 1) Expand on the Level 1 Interior Watershed Assessment procedure (IWAP) report; 2) Field assess the current stream channel conditions; 3) Assess the sensitivity of the stream channels to impacts from land-use activities; 4) Identify opportunities for upslope and in-stream watershed restoration activities; 5) Provide recommendations regarding future forestry development within the watershed.
