High Country Forestry Consulting Ltd. and Dobson Engineering Ltd. have been retained by the Spallumcheen Band to conduct an Interior Watershed Assessment Procedure within the Brash Creek Watershed as component of the Watershed Restoration program, Integrated Watershed Restoration Plan. The Spallumcheen Band through funding from Forest Renewal's Watershed Restoration Program and with the assistance of Riverside Forest Products Ltd. and the Ministry of Forests has proposed a series of assessment, planning, and training activities in the Brash Creek and Enderby Cliffs area. High Country Forestry Consulting Ltd. and Dobson Engineering Ltd. have been retained by the Spallumcheen Band to conduct an Interior Watershed Assessment Procedure within the Brash Creek Watershed as component of the Watershed Restoration Program, Integrated Watershed Restoration Plan. The purpose of the assessment was to: 1) determine the existing condition of the Brash Creek watershed and identify impacts that may be associated with past forest development; 2) Review the existing condition of the watershed with respect to public safety and water quality concerns; 3) Provide landscape level recommendations regarding the hydrologic impact of forest development plans for the watershed for the period of 1998 to 2003 and information cut-blocks that are beyond the current forest development period; 4) Comply with the requirements of the Forest practices Code Operational Regulation that watershed assessments must be completed for community watersheds prior to submitting a forest development plan.
