The purpose of the CAP is to identify disturbed channels, if they exist, in a consistent repeatable process. The cause of the documented disturbance will be evident in many instances. However, in other cases the disturbances will not easily be attributed to a single, definite cause such as past logging activities (BC Ministry of Environment, Lands and parks (MOELP), Forest Practices Code CAP Guidebook, 1996). Forsite Consultants ltd. (Forsite) conducted a Channel Assessment Procedure (CAP) on the Celista Creek and Humamilt Lake watersheds on behalf of Federated Co-operative (Fedco). Celista Creek drains east from the Humamilt Lake and then south into the Seymour Arm of Shuswap Lake near the community of Seymour Arm. Humamilt Lake is located approximately 8 kilometres northwest of the community of Seymour Arm (approximately 25 km by Forest Service Road). The lake flows from West to East and is approximately 12 kilometres in length. channel, watershed assessment |
