Powers Creek is an important tributary watershed within the Okanagan Basin, with high fisheries values for kokanee, as well as rainbow trout. Powers Creek is also a community watershed with low flows that are regulated through storage releases and licensed withdrawals by the Westbank Irrigation District. Water Survey of Canada operated a stream flow gauging site near the mouth of Powers Creek from 1969 to 1982.
