Abstract/Description or Keywords This watershed assessment report, prepared for Weyerhaeuser Canada Ltd. Okanagan Falls Division, assesses the cumulative impacts that proposed development might have on stream flows, surface erosion, landslides and stream channel stability within the Penticton Creek watershed. The main concerns in the Penticton Creek watershed are water quality and the timber supply for Forest License A18674. At present there is a spruce bark beetle (SBB) infestation which is affecting the mature spruce stands in the watershed. Harvesting of the moderate and high SBB infested areas is proposed to control the spread of the infestation. Penticton Creek is a community watershed with two points of interest (POIs) on the mainstem channel, at the City of Penticton water intake (POII) and at the outlet to the Greyback Lake reservoir (POI2). The Municipal Creek sub-basin is an important water source for the City of Penticton since it is unregulated and provides a major portion of the early runoff. Penticton Creek is also a fish-bearing stream with brook and rainbow trout, kokanee and longnose dace. The objectives of this report are to: 1) Review and summarize existing information; 2) Complete a watershed assessment to meet Forest Practices Code requirements; 3) Assess potential cumulative impacts of proposed development.
