Abstract/Description or Keywords This coastal watershed assessment (CWAP) report for the Dewdney Creek watershed has been prepared for International Forest Products Limited. Dewdney Creek is a 77.3 square kilometres tributary to the Coquihalla River. The confluence of Dewdney Creek with the Coquihalla River is located 23 km northeast of the town of Hope on the west side of the Cascade Mountains. For the purposes of this assessment, the watershed has been divided into two sub-basins (Cedarflat Creek and Upper Dewdney Creek) and a residual area below the confluence of Cedarflat Creek and Dewdney Creek. The Dewdney Creek watershed is a fish-bearing stream for both summer run steelhead and bull trout. Rainbow trout have also been identified to reside in the Dewdney Creek watershed. Located at the confluence with the Coquihalla River are the following utilities: an oil pipeline operated by Trans Mountain Pipe Line Company Ltd.; two natural gas pipelines operated by Westcoast Energy Inc.; a direct buried support structure and fiber optic cable operated by BC Tel; and the Coquihalla Highway (Highway 5). The primary purpose for the watershed assessment was to determine the potential impacts of International Forest Products Limited's current Forest Development Plan (1998-2002) in the Dewdney Creek watershed. Particular attention was given to concerns identified by Trans Mountain Pipe Line Company Ltd., Westcoast Energy Inc. and BC Tel (i.e. increased peak flows and reduced channel stability). watershed assessment, erosion, sediment
