Abstract/Description or Keywords The general objective of this study was to develop a distributed hydrologic model of the Okanagan
Basin and calibrate it to naturalized conditions, to develop a water accounting model for the
Okanagan Basin and calibrate it to existing conditions, and to apply the water accounting model of
the Okanagan Basin to analyze future hydrologic conditions under a range of climate-change and
land-use scenarios. Specific objectives were to:
ユ Develop a distributed hydrologic model of the Okanagan Basin to simulate naturalized
conditions;
ユ Calibrate and compare the model results with the results of the related naturalized flow
study (Summit and Polar, 2009);
ユ Estimate naturalized weekly streamflows or lake levels for the period 1996-2006 at 81
surface water nodes (Figure 1-2);
ユ Incorporate water use data to develop the Okanagan Basin Water Accounting Model;
ユ Calibrate the Okanagan Basin Water Accounting Model to available measured data;
ユ Estimate historical weekly streamflows and lake levels for the period 1996-2006 at 81
surface water nodes (Figure 1-2);
ユ Analyze future streamflows and lake levels under a range of climate-change and land-use
scenarios;
ユ Upload results to the OKWater Database. water supply, allocation, water balance, water yield
