Abstract/Description or Keywords This study investigates the low flow characteristics of 39 ungauged and 12 gauged basins within the Okanagan Basin. Recession constants, half flow periods, storage delay factors, and low flow magnitudes were calculated for each study basin through least squares regression. Results suggest that type, depth, and hydrologic properties of surficial material, slope, surface water storage, and drainage area were all found to effect low flow characteristics; therefore, this report suggests that Okanagan basin be sub-divided into separate geologic and meteorologic groups. By accomplishing this, estimates of low flow and hydrologic characteristics of ungauged watersheds could be represented more accurately from gauged locations within the specified region.
