Abstract/Description or Keywords This report provides a general description of the modifying geological processes that affect the slopes of the study area and an interpretation of the terrain stability. In addition, the mapping methodology is presented along with a discus ion of the applicability and reliability of this information as it relates to proposed forest engineering. The study area limits are generally defined by the catchment areas for the Barriere River watershed. This area covers an estimated 91, 162 hectares. Some portions of the Barriere River watershed are excluded from this study. These include the Dunn Peak protected area, lying to the west of Harper Creek, the Leonie Creek catchment ea, which is being mapped at a Terrain Survey Intensity Level C, and two areas under the Ministry of Forests Small Business Forest Enterprise Program. One of these areas covers the steep Plateau area and the valley sides above the Barriere River north of Saskum Lake. The other area lies between the Barriere River and North Barriere Lake to the north and west; and the East Barriere River and east Barriere Lake to the south; and extends east to the eastern edge of North Barriere Lake. terrain stability, watershed assessment, surficial geology, landslide, geomorphology, debris flow, erosion
