Abstract/Description or Keywords This report has been prepared as part of a terrain stability mapping project of the Sicamous Creek community watershed. It is accompied by a 1 :20,000 scale map of the Sicamous Creek study area. Sicamous Creek is located in the northwestern portion of Hunter's Range, south of Eagle River and east of M Lake (Figure 1). The study area as mapped, is 7131 ha in size and spans portions of the TRIM sheets 82L.086, 82L.087, and 82L.076. A small portion of the southwestern art of the study area lies within the catchment of Wiseman Creek. This creek flows onto the Sicamous Creek fan but does not join the main channel before discharging into Mara Lake This mapping has been done using standard methods of aerial photographic interpretation and field observations. The study area has been devided into a series of polygons with each depicting a relatively homogeneous area of terrain (surficial materials and geomorphological processes), slope (as classes), soil drainage, slop stability, surface erosion potential, and potential sediment delivery to major stream channels This report is intended to supplement the information presented on the terrain stability map. The report describes and reviews the geology and geomorphology of the study area, the characteristics of surficial materials and geomorphological processes that are present in the study area, the mapping methodology and map reliability, and includes a discussion of management implications.
