International Forest Products Ltd. - Adams Lake Lumber Division (Interfor) retained Summit Environmental Consultants Ltd. (Summit) to assess the past and potential future impacts of forest development on the sediment and hydrologic regimes of the Hiuihill Creek watershed. Recommendations for future forest development were made based in the assessment. Summit Environmental Consultants Ltd. (Summit) was retained by International Forest Products Ltd. - Adams Lake Lumber Division (Interfor) to assess the hydrologic and sediment regimes of Hiuihill Creek and to determine the extent to which the channels have historically been and could potentially be affected by forest development. Summit has addressed the issues of past harvesting-related impacts and the potential for future harvesting-related impacts on the Hiuihill Creek mainstem by considering: 1) The findings of previous studies; 2) The restoration activities that have taken place; 3) The results of our own examination of the extent hydrologic data and of the stream channel conditions.
