Abstract/Description or Keywords This report describes the state, or health, of fish and
fish habitat in the Okanagan and Similkameen
basins. It is one component of a Watershed-based
Fish Sustainability Planning process that was initiated
in 2003, and should be used as a starting point
to identify priorities during this process. In order
to plan for fish sustainability, we must know what
has happened in the past, how fish populations and
habitat have changed as a result, what is being done
already to conserve fish, and what information is
lacking. The report focuses on sockeye salmon,
kokanee salmon, and rainbow trout as indicators of
ecosystem health. salmonids, aquatic habitat
