Abstract/Description or Keywords Low flows and water extraction for irrigation has been a matter of increasing concern for the
regulatory agencies. Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO) has made efforts in the past to
encourage water users to cooperate and coordinate withdrawals to avoid dramatic changes to
stream flows in drought years which result in reduced available habitat and mortality of fish and
aquatic organisms (food sources). A contract was created to help DFO monitor stream flows and
impacts to these streams from irrigation on a consistent basis. This documentation supplied by
this is intended to supply information to aid government agencies' decisions to release water use
advisories, require additional water use restrictions such as requirement of モwater bailiffヤ and
stop work diversion orders. low flow, environmental flow, monitoring, streamflow, water quantity, water supply, fisheries, salmonids
