Abstract/Description or Keywords This report presents the results of a combined hydrological and biological study of the Coldwater Valley section of the proposed Hope t o Merritt Highway. The study boundaries extend from Coquihalla Lakes to Kingsvale.----- The objectives which the study was asked to address include: a) To document, in the form of an inventory, the above mentioned hydrological and biologicag resources that could be impacted by the project; b) To provide qualitative and quantitative evaluation of the impacts, both adverse and beneficial, that may be caused by high construction; c) To provide a distinction between short-term impacts (those which last for the contruction period only) and long-term impacts expected from the effect of the highway on the hydrological/biological regime; and d) TO provide mitigative and enhancement strategies where major encroachments or impacts can be expected. ----- The specific topics which were to be investigated in order to fulfill these objectives are listed in the detailed Terms of Reference included as Appendix I. Included is a main report, an application for a 1980 fresh-water fish collecting permit, and a record of fish collections by Fish Habitat Improvement Section (1977) under Permit 743 (file 13-013A). fish habitat, hydrology, streamflow, road
