Abstract/Description or Keywords | This research focused on developing a simple, low-cost decontamination protocol effective against the microscopic and adult life stages of the most serious AIS that are advancing on the Okanagan. Its purpose is to alert Okanagan residents, municipalities and water suppliers to the imminent environmental and economic damage that will be done by aquatic invasive species when they arrive, and what we can do to protect our Okanagan lakes, streams, and domestic water infrastructure. In this report, emphasis is placed on the zebra and quagga mussels because they pose the greatest threat to the Okanagan. |
