Abstract/Description or Keywords We are pleased to present the Kelowna Integrated Water Supply Plan which sets out drinking water
upgrades for serviced lands within and around the City of Kelowna.
This city-wide plan was co-operatively developed by the Kelowna Water Utility and the four large
Improvement Districts, with the support of their consultants. This report builds on the 2005
Kelowna Joint Water Committee Water Servicing Plan and the Water Quality reports prepared for
the KJWC in 2009 and City of Kelowna in 2010.
This plan provides an integrated city-wide approach to provide domestic water of high quality to all
residents within the City of Kelowna. The plan presents cost effective stages to achieve the required
objectives set out by the Ministry of Community Development, Sport and Culture. It is designed to
achieve the required public health outcomes, it provides best-lowest cost solutions, is flexible with
respect to integrating into future forms of governance, and maintains cost effective irrigation supply
for agriculture.
