Abstract/Description or Keywords The Nechako River is a regulated salmon river in northern BC that is jointly monitored by Alcan, Fisheries and Oceans Canada and BC Ministry of Environment. NFCP was formed to ensure the effective implementation of the 1987 Settlement Agreement between the three parties. NFCP undertakes aquatic management and monitoring of Nechako River temperature conditions, reservoir water flow releases via the Skins Lake Spillway, and adult chinook salmon spawner numbers. Between 1988 to the present, adult chinook spawners have met the Conservation Goal of the Agreement.
