Abstract/Description or Keywords Our article describes the current status of the Nechako white sturgeon population, highlights the key components of the population recovery plan (NWSRT 2003), and describes several environmental and ecological factors that may have affected the decline of the population. We have identified broad areas of research that will help us better understand the mechanisms that caused the decline of the Nechako white sturgeon population. Such research results could further refine recovery strategies.
