Abstract/Description or Keywords The objective of this study was to identify stream temperature and shade conditions in recently harvested small stream watersheds affected by the MPB. The study compared MPB harvesting practices near small streams to non-harvested grey-attack sites (controls). Control sites were also affected by the MPB because this is the dominant pine forest condition in the forest district. To identify harvesting effects, treatment reaches with buffer widths ranging from greater than 40 m to less than 5 m were compared to the control streams.
