Abstract/Description or Keywords Climate change has already had a significant impact on humans and the
environment, and will continue to have both global and regional impacts. This study
analyzed regional long-term climatological trends of temperature and precipitation
from 10 coastal weather stations on Vancouver Island, British Columbia. All stations
showed an increasing temperature trend, with the average regional trend increasing
at a comparable rate to the global average, even with the Pacific Decadal Oscillation
taken into account. Precipitation records are highly variable and show little significant
change, while total snowfall trends are decreasing at all stations.
