Abstract/Description or Keywords In July 2007, the Horsefly River Roundtable submitted an expression of interest to the partners for Learning Initiatives for Rural and Northern BC (LIRN BC). As one of 21 successful applicants, Linda Bartsch of the Horsefly River Roundtable and the Horsefly and District Board of Trade worked with Maureen LeBourdais of the BC Rural Network to plan an event to prioritize community projects that the Horsefly River Roundtable had proposed, and to gather more feedback from the community. Fifteen people from a variety of community organizations, including the Horsefly River Roundtable, met to prioritize ideas for community projects, and set out the next steps to accomplish the projects. Attendance was lower than expected due to a snowstorm that day. This report summarizes the content of the event. The first part of the report provides an explanation of the LIRN BC initiative and the Horsefly River Roundtable. Next is an overview of all community projects underway, followed by a summary of the event’s discussions and next steps for the community. The workshop agenda, participants list, and related references can be found in the appendices. Overall, the participants agreed that the LIRN process was extremely useful to provide an opportunity and a place for different community organizations to come together and collaborate on what they are doing, and to coordinate their efforts and plan for the future. The day was facilitated by, and this report was compiled by Mike Simpson of Fraser Basin Council. The planned facilitator, Tracy Bond of Quesnel, was unable to attend the event due to a snowstorm and poor highway conditions. Thank you to Sue Hemphill and Rebecca Rozander for note-taking, and to Karen Ritchie for taking photographs.
