Abstract/Description or Keywords A Regional Advisory Process (RAP) meeting was held on March 1, 2012 at the Pacific Biological Station in Nanaimo, B.C. to discuss a working paper focusing on the assessment of Fraser River Sockeye salmon (Oncorhynchus nerka) spatial distribution following COSEWIC and IUCN guidelines. The meeting was conducted to review information that will be provided to COSEWIC to support their assessment of the status of Fraser River Sockeye salmon in Canadian waters. Participation in this meeting included staff from Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO) Science, Fisheries and Aquatic management, Species at Risk program and external participants from the Provincial government, First Nations organizations, recreational fishing sectors, and environmental non-governmental organizations. This proceedings report summarizes the relevant discussions and presents key conclusions reached at the peer review meeting.
