Abstract/Description or Keywords Kala Geosciences Ltd undertook groundwater and surface monitoring within the 108 Milec and Sepa Lake area, on behalf of the Cariboo Regional District. A network of two surface water monitoring stations, one surface water flow weir, two shallow groundwater monitoring wells, and six deeper groundwater monitoring wells was established between May 16 to August 6, 2012. Each monitoring location is equipped with a Solinst pressure (4-20 mA) sensitive data logging transducer measuring water column and temperature. The following provides a summary of environmental observations during the 2012-2013 monitoring period.
108 Mile Lake has dropped on average 0.01 m/year over the period of March 1996 to March 2005 and by 0.23 m/year over the period of May 2005 to May 2012, resulting in a total drop of approximately 1.69
m over the period of November 1995 to May 2012 due primarily to local moisture deficit conditions and groundwater extraction. This interim report summarizes 2012-2013 monitoring data and provides
limited interpretation of the findings to date.
